Mary Evelyn Mattingly, 91, of New Hope, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Louisville. She was a very religious woman who loved to embroider and to be outside working in her flower beds and vegetable garden.


Survivors include three daughters, Irene Carter (Harold Dunn) and Doris Ulrich (Bobby), both of Bardstown and Linda Mattingly of New Hope; one son, Larry Mattingly (Fonda) of Marion; two brothers, Raymond Mattingly (Louise) of New Hope and Irvin Mattingly (Linda) of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a number of stepgrandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 104 Church St., New Hope with the Rev. Kenneth Fortener officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joe Dant.
Pallbearers are Matthew Mattingly, Mark Robey, Pat Ulrich, Cody Ulrich, Derek Miles, Corey Miles.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
