Michael Glenn Goins, 62, of Bloomfield, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at his home after a long battle with cancer. 
He was born June 18,1952, in Lynch and was the son of the late Charles Pascal and Ruby Hazel McClenney Goins. He was a retired Air Force veteran with 20 years of service. He was a civil service retiree with 18 years of service. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post No. 288.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Goins, Herbert Goins and Hershel Goins.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Osten Goins; one daughter, Briana Marshall Alvarez of Coconut Creek, Fla.; two sons, Brian Kelly (Jamie) Goins of Woodstock, Ga., and Brad (Nikki) Paley of Lexington; three sisters, Brenda McCauley of Ludlow, Janice Goins of Lexington and Eleesa Goins of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Charles (Beverly) Goins of Skiatook, Okla. and Vernon Goins of Lawrenceurg; and six grandchildren, Landon Paley, Camryn Goins, Callie Goins, Makayla Alvarez, Madison Alvarez and Kya Paley.
In honoring his wishes the family chose cremation. His memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church Family Life Center with Bro. Witt Criswell officiating.
The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
