Obituary: Nellie Ann Girdley, 67, Bardstown

Nellie Ann Girdley, 67, of Bardstown, died Monday, July 20, 2026, at University of Louisville Hospital. She was born Feb. 21, 1959, in Bardstown. She was the daughter of Chester Lee and Betty Jean Curtsinger Girdley.

She enjoyed going to the creek to pick up rocks and hunting for BigFoot. She loved all shiny bling and collected a lot of it over the years. Most importantly, she loved her grandbabies and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson, Dejuan Girdley.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Girdley of Bloomfield; one son, Gary Girdley of Bardstown; three sisters, Betty Jo, Faye, and Ethel Girdley; one brother, Louis Girdley; four grandchildren, Donzell, Donovan, Daniel, and Brycen Girdley; three great-grandchildren, Asher, Abel, and Zamaire.

Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
