Nellie Mae Mattingly, 85, of Loretto, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Flaget 
Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Taylor County to the late Robert Leonard and Mary Ellen Thomas Brockman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Alvin Mattingly; three sisters, Lorene Shively, Bonnie Luckett and Judy Brockman; two brothers, Benny Brockman and Richard Brockman; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Hammond (Hugh) of Lebanon; three sons, Carl Mattingly (Lisa), Alvin Mattingly (Jeanne Nunn) and Robert “Cobb” Mattingly (Carlene), all of Loretto; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial is 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
