Obituary: Pamela Sue Gies, 68, Nerinx

Pamela Sue Gies, 68, of Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Loretto Motherhouse. She was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Louisville. She was a former sister for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Louisville and other cities, where she was also known as Sister Joseph Theresa Mary. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Anthony and Theresa Osborne Gies.

She is survived by two sisters, Sheila (Paul) Hagan of Bardstown and Susan (Wally) Johnson of Sebring, Fla.; two brothers, Tony (Sharon) Gies and Mark (Karen) Gies, both of Deatsville; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday April 12, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in the New Salem Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Peter Do officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
