Sallie Frances Downs, 51, of New Haven, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at Norton Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland West and Evangeline Carlton Hazelip; one brother, Michael Russell; and one granddaughter, Brooklynn West.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Downs; one daughter, Angel West; four sisters,
Patricia O’Bryant, Connie Bell, Shelia Alcorn, and Sherry Sutton; one brother, Kenneth Russell; and one grandson, Brayden West.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial in the Mount Washington Cemetery.
Visitation is noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
The McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
