Verda Lee Cozine, 96, of Bloomfield, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, in Hill Creek Nursing Home in Louisville. She was born Nov. 16, 1918, in 
Mercer County to the late James Levi and Effie Harley Cornish. She was a retired custodian for the Bardstown Board of Education, and was a member of the Little Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lillard Cozine, as well as her parents.
She is survived by three sons, James “Sonny” Cozine (Louise) of Cox’s Creek, Lillard Cozine Jr. (Judy) of Melbourne, Fla., and Eddie Ray Cozine (Janice) of Mount Washington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, ath the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. David Clay officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
