Sunday, March 18, 2018 — One person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash early Sunday morning on Gap Knob Road south of New Hope.
At 12:17 a.m., Nelson County EMS, the New Hope Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for an injury accident initially reported to be on Holy Cross Road, but was actually located in the 2100 block of Gap Knob Road.
First responders determined that a subject in one of the vehicles died from injuries sustained in the crash. A reconstructionist from the Kentucky State Police was requested to assist with the crash investigation.
One person refused treatment and transport from EMS. First-responders were on the scene for nearly two hours.
