Raymond J. Edington, 74, of Bardstown, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Westport, Ind. He retired from the U.S. Navy, received a bachelor of science degree from Morehead State University and in retirement he pursued his passion in gemology.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Dixon Edington; one sister, Lucille Ree; and one brother, Farris Edington
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Edington of Clovis, Calif., Sandra Woody of Union, and Brenda Edington of Fresno, Calif.; two sons, Raymond A. Edington of Bardstown and Douglas Edington of Lexington; two sisters, Mildred Burtner and Helga Modin both, of Anderson, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His graveside service is 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Camp Nelson Cemetery in Nicholasville.
Visitation is 1–5 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.
