STAFF REPORT
Friday, March 10, 2017 — City of Bardstown utility customers are being warned not to fall victim of ongoing attempts to scam customers regarding their city accounts.

These calls are attempts to scare customers into an agreement to make a payment. The city does not make phone calls like these demanding immediate payment, Hudson explained.
The calls appear to be targeting mostly commercial customers, she said.
If you receive a phone call regarding your bill and immediate payment is demanded, contact Bardstown City Hall at (502) 348-5947 and report the call. You can also check your utility payment status at that time.
Payments can be made online, in person at City Hall between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by dropping payment in the drop box behind City Hall or at the drive-up window. Customers can also have payments for utility bills automatically deducted from your savings or checking account.
For more information, contact Bardstown City Hall, (502) 348-5947 or visit the “Fees & Payments” page on the City of Bardstown’s website.
