Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, 10:15 p.m. — Nelson County remains under a Winter Weather Advisory until 9 a.m. Friday.


Temperatures nose-dived today, from 45 degress at 10 a.m. to 19 degrees at 10 p.m., with average wind chill readings of 3 to 4 degrees above zero.
First-responders who were called out around 8 p.m. to the area of the Bloomfield exit of the Blue Grass Parkway reported extremely slick and hazardous road conditions due to the freezing of the wet road surfaces. Police responded to numerous reports of vehicles that has slid off the roadway.
Police in neighbor counties of Bullitt, Hardin and Washington also reported hazardous roads in areas where melting snow was refreezing.
Hazardous road conditions will continue through Friday morning.
