Thomas Patrick “Pat” Werner, 75, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born March 17, 1937, in New Haven. He was a retired employee of Heaven Hill Distillery, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Werner and Berenice Mouser Werner; two brothers, James Robert Werner, and William Paul Werner; and one sister, Viola Werner Baird.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Clark Werner of Bardstown; four children, two daughters, Bunny Higdon and her husband Rob Higdon of Greensboro, Ga., Cynthia Hahn and her husband Greg Hahn of Bloomfield; two sons, Pat Werner and his wife Mary Ellen Werner of Bardstown, and Walter Werner and his wife Shelly Werner, of Bardstown; two brothers, Jerry Werner and Acy Werner, both of Bardstown; two sisters, Mary Werner Blair of Bardstown, and Jean Werner Bryan of New Haven; and five grandsons, Austin Werner, Logan Werner, Nicholas Hahn, Drew Werner, and Ben Werner.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Wimsatt will officiate.
Visitation is 2–8 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown. A prayer service will be 6 pm Sunday evening.
Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Elementary School.
