Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 1 p.m. — Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon in an accident at a construction site on Lincoln Way near Lincoln National Bank. According to witnesses, a worker fell when one of the roof trusses gave way. The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to the scene at 4:38 Tuesday afternoon. When firefighters arrived, construction workers were working to free the victims from the fallen debris.
Nelson County EMS transported a 27 year-old male to Flaget Memorial Hospital with complaints of mid-back pain and right hip pain. The other two victims were transported directly to University Hospital’s emergency room for treatment. Firefighters assisted EMS with getting the patients from the construction site and into the EMS ambulances.
