Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, 1 a.m. – Nelson Fiscal Court met on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, and approved funding for a “rocket docket” program that will move some non-violent offenders through the court system in a more timely manner. The court also approved first reading of a measure to leave the property tax rates the same as they were last year. Because the move will generated approximately $40,000 in additional tax revenue, a public hearing is required. Running time: about 50 minutes.
