Wednesday, July 4, 2018, 8 p.m. — Due to the fire hazard in the area of the Barton 1792 Distillery — site of the damaged bourbon rickhouse that collapsed earlier today — fire officials are asking residents in the Maple hill area to refrain from setting off fireworks Wednesday evening.
The half of the rickhouse left standing after the original June 22 event collapsed Wednesday afternoon, releasing an unknown amount of additional alcohol in the process. No one was injured in the second collapse.
