Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 — It isn’t too late to attend the Domestic Violence Awareness Month event today at noon at My Old Kentucky Home State Park.
The luncheon at the park’s Great Hall (located at the park’s gift shop) is a fundraiser for the Purple Purse Emergency Fund aimed at building awareness of financial empowerment for domestic violence survivors. WAVE TV3 personality Dawn Gee will emcee the event.
Bardstown City Councilwoman Kecia Copeland is host for the event. She is member of the board of the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence (KCADV). She’s hosting the event to support the Purple Purse fund, which provides emergency help to domestic violence survivors who are struggling with a crisis or unexpected expense.
The event is part of an annual campaign sponsored by the Allstate Foundation during October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
