Obituary: Charles Eugene ‘Charlie’ Winfield, 46, Loretto

Charles Eugene “Charlie” Winfield, 46, of Loretto, died Saturday, Dec 7, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 4, 1973, in Marion County. He formerly attended special education in Marion County Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward “Lightning” Winfield (Nov. 17, 2015).

Survivors include his mother, Mary Alice “Sissy” Mattingly Winfield; one sister, Cathy Winfield, both of whom he lived with; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special caregiver, Connie Mattingly.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service with the Rev. Michael Martin.

Cremation will follow the service with burial in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery at a later date.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
