Bardstown Fire called for possible gas leak at downtown business

Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, 7:10 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to Smith & Co. CPAs, 207 North Third St., for an odor investigation. Firefighters first thought the odor may have been floor cleaning chemicals, but further investigation determined there may have been a gas leak at the furnace. An HVAC technician cut off the gas and the unit will be repaired. Firefighters were on scene for about 30 minutes.
