Bardstown Fire called to extinguish tree ignited by lightning strike

Thursday, July 26, 2012, 6:40 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to a tree that was truck by lightning and on fire in the 10700 block of Louisville Road. Initial reports were that a power line passed through the tree, but firefighters determined no power lines were in danger. The fire was reported at 6:15 p.m., and firefighters were on scene for about 20 minutes.
