Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, 2:54 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS responded to 2216 Elmcrest Drive for a reported chimney fire. The incident commander reported heavy smoke from the chimney on his arrival. Firefighters removed the burning materials from the fire box and used a thermal imaging camera to determine if the fire spread outside the chimney area. After a thorough check of the chimney and surrounding area, firefighters left the scene.
