Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, 11:38 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the area of Buchannan Avenue for a reported natural gas leak in the area. Contractors digging in the area have reportedly hit another gas line. This is the same area where contractors hit a gas line on Wednesday, Sept. 28th.
11:44 a.m. — The incident commander declared a Level 1 Hazmat situation, and requested police to shut down Bloomfield Road and route traffic around the area via Buchannan and Pennebaker avenues while the gas leak is repaired.
11:59 a.m. — Workers from LG&E have shut down the leaking broken gas pipe.
