Monday, May 18, 2015, 3 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded early Monday morning to 
an apartment fire in Building 1 at Nazareth Village on the Nazareth campus. Firefighters were dispatched at 1:40 a.m. for a reported fire in a bathroom vent in one of the apartments. The fire was out when firefighters arrived, but the resident asked firefighters to make sure the fire was out and had not spread. Firefighters checked for extension of the fire outside the bathroom vent area, and ventilated heavy smoke from the apartment.
Nelson County EMS was requested to respond to check the resident for possible smoke inhalation. While firefighters were checking adjacent apartments, they found a resident who had fallen hours earlier and was still on the floor with a head injury. Firefighters requested an EMS squad to return to check the resident.
