Saturday, July 30, 2011, 1:31 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to 702 Allison Ave. for a reported garage fire. According to the caller, the garage may have been struck by lightning. Nelson County EMS is sending a squad to that location for standby.
1:35 p.m. — Police officer on scene reports the garage is close to two residences; firefighters en route report seeing a column of smoke and request Nelson County Dispatch to page it out again as a working structure fire.
1:42 p.m. — Firefighters report the garage is fulling engulfed and threatening a house next to it. One report is the vinyl siding on the adjacent home is melting.
2:10 p.m. — Incident commander reports the fire is out and they are starting salvage operations
