Thursday, July 31, 2014, 9:45 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called Thursday afternoon just after 2 p.m. for a dryer on fire at 203 North Aspen. When firefighters arrived, they found a small amount of fire behind the dryer. The fire was extinguished and firefighters checked the home to be sure the fire had not spread into adjacent areas. The American Red Cross responded to assist the family with immediate shelter needs for three adults and three children. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
