Bardstown Fire called to Camptown residence for active alarm

Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, 5:44 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Camptown Road for an active smoke alarm. The caller said there was no smoke in the home, and believed the detector may be a carbon monoxide detector. Firefighters investigated and found an active detector in a bedroom. The problem was traced to a bad battery in the detector. Firefighters were on scene for about 20 minutes.
