Wednesday, June 13, 2012, 2:11 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to a reported storage building fire in the area of 3035 Poplar Flat Rd. about 1:55 Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters found the reported fire was a controlled burn and canceled additional responding fire units. Anyone conducting a controlled burn is asked to call Nelson County Dispatch beforehand to help firefighters reduce the chances of dispatching the county’s fire departments to fires that are not a threat to life or property.
