Bardstown single-family residence damaged in Monday morning fire

Monday, July 17, 2017 — 11:30 a.m. A Bardstown single-family home was damaged by a fire Monday morning that was reported as smoke in the kitchen. The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched at about 10:41 a.m. Monday to 173 Purcell Avenue for a report of smoke in the kitchen of the home. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the home. The fire crews reported that the fire was brought under control by 11 a.m. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents with immediate housing needs.
