Sept. 4, 2016, 3:30 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon to American Legion Post 167 on Downs Lane for an investigation of an odor of smoke in the building. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 1:45 p.m. Fire crews traced the source of the odor to a malfunctioning exhaust fan in a bathroom. Firefighters were on the scene for about 15 minutes.
