Downed utility pole on Shannon Drive reported to be on fire

Monday, April 4, 2011, 9:45 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to a report of a downed utility pole in the 2000 block of Shannon Drive. The pole is reportedly on the ground and on fire. Shannon Drive is located off Templin Avenue just a few hundred feet north of its intersection with Ben Irvin Road. The incident commander reports a pole down on a privacy fence. The pole is also carrying high voltage lines. Salt River Electric has been notified.
