Saturday, April 4, 2015, 2 a.m. — The male driver of a 2004 Cadillac was arrested early Saturday police_badgemorning after he ran from police during a traffic stop. A Bardstown Police officer attempted to stop the vehicle on East Broadway near the Civil War Museum. The vehicle began to slow but then fled. The officer pursued the vehicle as it criss-crossed downtown streets before it stopped on Robin Drive at South Third Street.

While the driver was out of the vehicle with police, the passenger got behind the wheel of the Cadillac and drove off. Witnesses said the Cadillac was driven to St. Monica Catholic Church and parked behind it. The person who drove it there, exited the vehicle and then fled on foot.

The original driver of the Cadillac was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. The car was located by police behind the church and towed.
