Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 — A large barn on T. Hahn Road was a total loss after it burned to the ground Tuesday evening.
At 6:06 p.m., a barn located on the farm at 55 T. Hahn Road was reportedly on fire. The Nelson County Fire Department responded, and requested additional manpower and equipment from the Northeast Nelson Fire Department. The first firefighters on the scene reported the barn apparently had stored hay inside.
Firefighters were on the scene for more than 90 minutes as the barn burned. Firefighters left at about 7:45 p.m., noting the barn was likely to continue to smolder for hours should Nelson County Dispatch receive calls of a fire in the area.
