Friday July 6, 2012, 9:55 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the area of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church on Samuels Loop after a passer-by reported heavy smoke in the area at about 8:40 Friday evening. The caller told dispatchers the source of the smoke may have been a barn near the church. Firefighters arrived to find a visible haze in the area. Several fire units searched the area for a source of the smoke, but found none. They remained in the area for about 15 minutes and confirmed the haze was continued to dissipate.
