Monday, March 4, 2013, 6:14 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Monday evening to a fire in a second-floor apartment in the 100 block of Manor Avenue in the Maywood subdivision off US150. Firefighers were dispatched for the reported kitchen fire at 5:43 p.m. Nelson County EMS also responded. The fire was out when firefighters arrived. They used thermal imaging cameras to inspect for hidden burning areas in the apartment. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents with immediate housing needs.
