Firefighters respond to possible lightning strike on Charity Heights

Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 5:27 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to a home at t00 North Charity Heights for a possible lightning strike. Residents report they are smelling smoke after a very close lightning strike.

At 5:31 p.m., firefighters were also called to the Flaget Health Center at 110 South Salem for an active fire alarm.

After a thorough inspection of the Charity Heights residence, firefighters find no fire or damage caused by a lightning strike, and recommend the homeowner have his electrical system checked by an electrician.
