Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, 10:41 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to a residence at 148 Fern Lea Circle for a possible structure fire. Smoke detectors in the home are activated and there is smoke in the residence. Occupants are evacuating the residence.
10:47 p.m. — Firefighters believe the furnace may be the source of smoke in the home, and are preparing to investigate.
11:15 p.m. — The source of the smoke was the furnace, and the homeowner will have the unit serviced. All fire units are leaving the scene.
