Five-vehicle crash Tuesday at Rooster Run snarls KY245 traffic

Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, 8:30 p.m. — A five-vehicle accident on New Shepherdsville Road (KY245) near the Dollar General Store at Rooster Run snarled traffic Tuesday afternoon for about an hour. The Nelson County Fire Department, two Nelson County EMS ambulances and two Nelson County deputy sheriffs were dispatched for the accident at about 5:50 p.m. The crash was initially reported as a possible injury accident with entrapment. When first-responders arrived, all the occupants were out of their vehicles. One person on the scene refused treatment by EMS; no one else at the accident needed treatment or transport by EMS. Firefighters stayed on scene until wreckers could remove the vehicles in the event there were hazardous vehicle fluids to clean up. Firefighters were on the scene until about 7 p.m.
