Joseph “Ronnie” Downs, 63, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1948 in Nelson County, retired from T & T Cleaning Service, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ethel Downs; two brothers, Leroy Downs and Harry T. Downs; and a sister, Rose Kidwell.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Downs; three brothers, C.A. (Dorothy) Downs, Billy Downs, and Harold Downs; two sisters, Ann Downs, and Wanda (Robert) Neal all of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be 11 am Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Michael Wimsatt will officiate. Visitation will be 2 – 8 pm Sunday and 9 – 10:30 am Monday at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Sunday evening.
