Friday, Sept. 2, 5:37 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded to the Nelson County Attorney John Kelley’s office, 202 E. Stephen Foster at the corner of Second & Stephen Foster Ave. for landscaping that is on fire.
5:38 p.m. — First firefighter on scene confirms the landscaping is on fire and has melted some of the siding on the front of the building. Firefighter will check to see if the fire is spreading, and have asked city police to respond for traffic control.
6 p.m. — Firefighters extinguished the fire, which had been started by a cigarette.
