Man severely injured after 25-foot fall inside Chaplin tobacco barn

Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, 7:40 p.m. — A Hispanic man in his early 20s was injured Sunday evening when he fell approximately 25 feet inside a tobacco barn. According to witnesses, the man hit two tiers as he fell. Nelson County EMS responded to the 8000 block of Lawrenceburg Road to assist the injured man. He was transported by EMS to Bloomfield Elementary School where he was transferred to a medical helicopter. He was flown to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
