Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, 9:30 p.m. — A 62-year-old man was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital Saturday morning after the extended cab pickup truck he was in was hit from behind by a semi tractor-trailer rig. The accident took place at about 10:20 Saturday morning on West John Rowan near its intersection with Padgett Way. The pickup truck suffered extensive damage. Nelson County EMS transported the man to the hospital complaining of back pain.
