Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office 
were dispatched Friday night to the area of 5800 Plum Run Road for a report of debris burning in the roadway.
A Bardstown Police officer was near the area when the report was phoned in to Nelson County Dispatch at 10:24 p.m. The officer was first on the scene and reported that a pile of items set out for bulky item pickup at the intersection of Plum Run and Chester Hahn roads had been set ablaze. Firefighters extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading. Fire units were on the scene for about 40 minutes.
