Monday, July 30, 2018 — A Melody Lake home was heavily damaged by fire Sunday evening that required help from three fire departments.
At about 5:38 p.m., the New Hope Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a structure fire on Dogwood Trail in the Melody Lake development in southern Nelson County. New Hope firefighters were assisted by crews and equipment from the Loretto Fire Department and the Nelson County Fire Department. An ambulance squad from Nelson County EMS was on standby at the fire scene while firefighters brought the fire under control.
Crews remained on the scene until about 8:50 p.m.
