Monday, May 23, 2011, 8 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department and Nelson County EMS responded to 9611 Bloomfield Road for a structure fire. The house apparently took a lightning strike; firefighters report seeing shingles blown off around the chimney. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots or hidden areas that might be burning.
