Donald F. Hardin, 71, of Bardstown, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center. He was born Aug. 18, 1945, in Bardstown. He was a retired loan officer, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a Salvation Army volunteer. He was a past member of Kentucky State Fair Board and was active with Nelson
County Republican Party. He enjoyed playing Santa for all the kids. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Catherine Hardin.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Robbie) Blanford of Bardstown; one son, Sterling (Katie) Hardin of Louisville; three sisters, Barbara (Jack) Brown of Americus, Ga., Genie Dennis and Denise Kerr, both of Bardstown; one brother, Gerry (Susan) Hardin of Bardstown;
three grandchildren, Elijah Blanford, Cooper Hardin, and Leo Hardin; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to Salvation Army or American Cancer Society.
