Johnny Montgomery, 54, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Nelson County, to the late John Thurman and Flora Mae Ingram Montgomery. He was a Baptist by faith and a farmer. Collecting movies and knives were his favorite hobbies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Ann Nalley.
His survivors include his wife, Diane Montgomery of Bloomfield; three sisters, Linda Cox (Gilbert), Millie Berry and Nancy Pollett (Doug), all of Bloomfield; two brothers, Ernest L. Montgomery and David Montgomery, both of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Jan. 21, 2017, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, with the Rev. Winfred Hagerman officiating. Burial was in the Valley Cemetery in Taylorsville.
The Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville was in charge of arrangements.
