Lawrence J. Nelson, 82, of New Haven, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was a resident of Nelson County, and retired after working as a blacksmith for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hilda Jenson Nelson; two sisters, Sylvia Ringen and Lillian Nelson; and one brother Ozzie Nelson.
He was survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Nelson of New Haven; two daughters, Hope (Danny) Mang of Louisville and Ruth LeAnne (Wayne) Vasquez of Jeffersonville; three sons, Kevin Nelson of Jeffersonville, Ozzie (Diane) Nelson of Bloomfield and Jay Nelson of New Haven; one sister, Gertrude Turner of Iowa; and two grandchildren, Lawrence Mang and Natali Vasquez.
There will be no services for Lawrence Nelson at this time.
The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
