Rita Greer, 82, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Signature at Colonial Health & Wellness. She was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Nelson County. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Little Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Norris Greer; her parents, Harrison and Mary Trent; four sisters, Dorothy Sanders, Hazel Rummage, Annie Sanders, and Mary Alice Curtsinger; and one brother, William Floyd Trent.
She is survived by two sons, Don (Aline) Greer of Fairfield and Tony Greer of Lexington; one daughter, Patti Greer of Fairfield; one sister Ruby Curtsinger of Mount Washington; eight great-grandchildren; six grandchildren, Leah Abang, Erica Gregonis, John Greer, Jonathan Greer, Tyler Greer, and Katie Houghlin; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Gardens with Bro. Will Sipes officiating.
Visitation is noon-6 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to Little Union Baptist Church.
