Theresa Osborne Gies, 84, of Nazareth, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Samuels. She was the former co-owner of Gies Grocery, a retired nurse for Colonial Health and Rehab, and attended St. Vincent Catholic Church at Nazareth.


She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Gies of Loretto Motherhouse, Sheila (Paul) Hagan of Bardstown and Susan (Wally) Johnson of Sebring, Fla.; two sons, Tony (Sharon) Gies, and Mark (Karen) Gies, both of Deatsville; two sisters, Wanda Bowen of Louisville and Judy (Larry) Crume of Bardstown; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Baptist Cemetery with the Rev.Trumie Culpepper Elliott officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2016, and 9-11 a.m. Monday the the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to Loretto Motherhouse or Kosair Children’s Hospital.
