Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 — One person died and another person was injured Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 1066 in the Bloomfield area.
At about 5:52 a.m., Spencer County EMS, Nelson County EMS and the Northeast Nelson Fire Department were dispatched to the area of the 5 mile marker on Hwy 1066 for an overturned vehicle. First-responders located the overturned vehicle off the roadway, requiring the firefighters to assist with rescue. One person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County coroner’s office. One person was transported by EMS to a local hospital for evaluation of injures and treatment.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
