Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, 1 a.m. — One person died and another person suffered minor injuries Thursday afternoon in a multiple vehicle accident near the 15 mile marker in the westbound lanes of the 
Bluegrass Parkway. At 4:26 p.m., Nelson County EMS, police and the Nelson County Fire Department were dispatched for an injury accident with at least one person trapped in their vehicle. Firefighters extricated one victim from a vehicle in the median. The 81-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was transported from the scene to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The Nelson County Coroner and police chaplains also responded to the accident scene.
